Commencing a two-week tour to promote their new full-length album "Figure of Speech", and following a 10 month absence spent writing and recording, SCANLINES will bring their dreamlike soundscapes and rhythmic explosions to The Bishop. Limited edition hand spray painted CDs of "Figure of Speech" (cover pictured above) will be available along with posters and T-shirts -- all of which come with download code. Check out a teaser of the new album below, and pick it up on July 16 before it's available anywhere else: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sE149gu6LjE

:::Peter Oren:::
Peter Oren was born in southern Indiana. He grew up singing in the Catholic masses he’d later abandon. He started writing songs at eighteen, hitchhiked alone in Norway at nineteen, and dropped out of college at twenty. He’s been arrested for protesting twice. He’d garden if he could stay put long enough. At times he may be found sleeping in the back of his truck by the ocean or up a national forest road.
Take some sandpaper to Tom Waits, and you’ll have the smooth yet demanding voice of Peter Oren. His writing often focuses on unjust power dynamics and environmental degradation. Love (or lack thereof) is an issue every day, so there’s plenty of that too.
